Hip surgery

If arthritis or hip injury is limiting your everyday activities, and medication (or other treatment) is not giving you the results you want, surgery may provide needed pain relief. It could also allow you to return to the lifestyle and activities you used to enjoy.

Your doctor can explain the reasons why hip surgery may, or may not, be right for you. If you do both agree it’s a good medical option, they will then explain what you need to know to prepare for the surgery, how the surgery will be performed, and what you can expect once you are up and moving again.

There are two types of surgery that can relieve your pain; arthroscopy or total hip replacement.
